Wutah Afriyie is considering working with me again – Wutah Kobby

Wutah Kobby of Wutah fame, has disclosed that his other half, Frank Kwadzo Wutah Afriyie has asked for some time to consider whether or not to work with him again.

Kobby, born Daniel Morris, told Amanda Jissih on ‘Showbiz Fylla’ on Hitz FM that, “I’ve spoken to my brother and he says I should give him some time.”

Kobby and Afriyie, gained national attention in 2004 through the Nescafe Africa Revelation. They later separated in 2009 due to rumoured bickering between them.

Reports suggest that they are heeding to calls from their fans and entertainment pundits to come back.

According to Kobby, they were working on a few songs before their breakup and hopes that they get back together as a group again and record them.

“We started working on something. As it stands now I think that we can say we have two songs on the line waiting to be recorded hopefully. Pray for us, we need all the support that Ghanaians can give us,” he said.

While many have said the split has affected their music careers, Kobby believes that their separation opened doors for him.

“Honestly, there is so much that I’ve discovered on my own that if I was with him maybe I wouldn’t have discovered. I get to operate fully without anyone pulling me back or pushing me forward.

“I do things at my time, I get to tell a whole story without anybody saying anything. It’s been an experience and all the challenges that came with it, they came as lessons as well, they came to build me to become the better person.”

The ‘Chio Chio’ singer, who has been away for a while now, said he travelled to the US to sell his music.

“I was exploring and I got quite a number of people to buy into the idea of Ghana music, my music specifically. As you know, lately I’ve been doing a lot of acoustics all around and I think that it is taking me far and people want to hear music made in the organic way.”

Some songs Kobby Wutah recorded after he separated from the group includes, ‘Pii Por Pii’ andb ‘Chio Chio’.
