Work hard to improve lives – MCE urges

Ashaiman (G/A), Nov. 4, GNA – Mr Ibrahim Baidoo, the Municipal Chief Executive for Ashaiman, has urged the newly constituted assembly to work assiduously to improve the lives of the people.

‘It is the expectation of the people of Ashaiman that we perform our duties diligently for their benefit, hence the first orientation organised for you at Tema,’ he said.

Mr Baidoo gave the advice when he addressed the first ordinary meeting of the Ashaiman Municipal Assembly.

He said Ashaiman was an active cosmopolitan settlement with lots of potentials and there was the need to harness these talents through the collective engagement of all stakeholders to realise the Government’s Better Ghana Development Agenda.

He stated: ‘Our people will want to see in the coming years the real impact of change leadership translating itself in the various communities. Young men and women need basic training that will prepare them for useful engagement in life.

‘They want to see Ashaiman as 24-hour Livable City where business activities flourish and substantial is progress made in the areas of education, social services, security, health, agriculture, roads and sanitation, among other.’

The MCE said: ‘We have accepted the peoples’ mandate to steer the affairs of the Municipality so as to meet their aspirations, therefore, we need to be responsive so that we can bring the needed change our people are yearning for.’
