Volta Lake Transport Company Developes Adawso And Ekyi Amanfrom Ferry Station

The Volta Lake Transport Company (VLTC) is on the verge of developing the ferry station at Adawso and Ekyi Amanfrom in the Kwahu Afram Plains South District in the Eastern Region.

Passengers will no longer have to stand stranded waiting for the ferry, the company has provided waiting rooms for passengers with modern and adequate sanitation facilities. Yakubu Isifu Tanko, port supervisor and acting manager of the Adawso ferry station hinted that the Volta Lake Transport Company will soon receive water buses to transport passengers who are not willing to board the ferry, which serves as bridges where the lake has cut across the road network, passengers and cargo are transported at the Adawso and Ekyi Amanfrom stations.

The Volta Lake Transport Company (VLTC) which boasts of an accident free operation since 1970, wants to ensure a more safer and reliable service by providing well equipped and modernized ferry stations. The Adawso and the Ekyi Amanfrom landing facilities have been rehabilitated to increase ferry and vehicle handling capabilities of the landing stages, whiles the ferry terminals have all weather protection and adequate sanitation facilities to accommodate additional ferry and passenger traffic.
