The experience in South Africa was great and wonderful. It was educative and an eye-opener for me as well. What I learnt from the trip was that there is so much originality about South Africans. They appreciate their own music. I learnt a lot and even got the opportunity to meet Yvonne Chaka Chaka and she gave us a lot of advice in relation to music.  I want to win the Vodafone Icons because I know I’ve got what it takes to win this competition. If something happens and I don’t win, I know I have been exposed to a big platform and I know I have been great from day one till this day.

The trip to South Africa was amazing. One thing I learnt from the trip was being who you are and being original in your music. I also learnt how to choose the lyrics of a song. You need to take your time, let it come to you and don’t overdo it. Then I was taught to add melodies and the beats together so that you can bring out something authentic.  I have been yearning to audition for this event since I was 16 years and I’m 23 years now, so you can tell how badly I want to win this event. It has been a dream of mine since and I’m grateful that I actually stood up to be able to do this right now.

3. TITI
My experience in South Africa has been very educative. We had the chance to visit Universal Music Studios; we saw records of songs that are very popular. We also went to the Neil Solomon Studio and we were actually taught a lot, like ideally what the duration of a song should be and what should go into a song to make it a hit song.  We also went to the Sky Room and we saw people performing live and that built up my confidence because they performed so nicely that you will want to get involved in it. I am very positive I’m also going to win the Vodafone Icons; and if I don’t, I will be thankful to Vodafone for the platform. But I’m not going to stop music.

4. CENA
The trip to South Africa has been life changing and I’m really grateful to my fans and God for putting me through to the final five. It has been fun and educative as well. I learnt from Yvonne Chaka Chaka’s personality that as a musician, you need to be humble. At the Neil Solomon Studio, we were also taught about originality, authenticity, how to write good lyrics and producing hit songs.  After going to the Universal Music Studios and seeing all those people, it has pushed me to win the event because I definitely want to work there. Being part of the final five is a huge platform and going to SA also helped.

5. RATTY
South Africa was a nice experience. I had the opportunity to perform on one of their shows.  In Ghana, lots of rappers don’t perform live; they like to mime. But when I went to SA, rappers did live shows and I learnt that you have to connect with your audience and also be on track. I also learnt a lot which will help me in my music career. As you know, I was evicted and later brought back into the show. When I was home, I knew my God would bring me back so I was preparing for the finals and I know I will win the event.
