Vicky Bright seeks annulment of Okaikoi-South Primary

Accra, Dec. 15, GNA – Mrs Vicky Bright, Former Minister of State and Legal Advisor to ex-President John Agyekum Kufuor is going to court to annul the outcome of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Primary at Okaikoi-South.

She said the primary in her constituency in the Greater Accra Region, where she withdrew as a candidate was fraught with a number of irregularities including a bloated register.

Mrs Bright in a media interaction in Accra said, she had sent three petitions to the NPP to use the internal mechanisms to address her concerns since May 11 and the Party haven failed to respond to her difficulties about the fraudulent nature of the voters register, she has no option than to go to court.

She said NPP should not preoccupy itself only with the National Register but should focus also on constituencies, where there are legitimate concerns about aspiring parliamentarians.

‘I am going to court as a matter of principle to disqualify the sole candidate Mr Ahmed Arthur, whom I raised a number of issues concerning his academic qualifications,’ she said.
