UniBank To Sponsor PUSAG Games

Unibank, the 2014 World Cup title sponsor for the Black Stars, has announced a-five-year sponsorship package for the Private Universities Students’ Association of Ghana (PUSAG), 2015 annual games and entertainment festival.

Though the content of the package was not disclosed, the Bank is expected to take care of most of the expenses that would be incurred during the entertainment festivities.

The National President of PUSAG, Mohammed Adams Sukparu at a press conference last week expressed his outfit’s gratitude to Unibank for accepting to support the up-coming games and entertainment.

He said the Bank is the only corporate entity among many others consulted, which agreed to support the games.

“This demonstrates the extent to which Unibank is willing to support the development of sport at all levels,” he said.

The 2015 game and entertainment which is the eighth edition, is expected to attract 40 private universities throughout the country with a student population of about 70,000.

This year’s games and entertainment festival craves to offer the platform for the youth to acquire skills in the various areas of the sporting disciplines and empower them to make a difference in their communities as students.

Adams Sukparu said “having taken notice of the issues of students in private institutions, the association proposed to organize programmes that will empower students to bring out their talents to promote nation building”.

One area PUSAG believes can develop both the youth and the country is sport, he mentioned. “Ghana is no exception to the tremendous benefits accrued to its citizens through sports. It is as a result of this, the PUSAG considers sports and entertainment as a pillar for providing holistic education to its member institution for a better Ghana”.

The 8th games and entertainment festival will also attract alumni of PUSAG.
