The Versatile Show cast poised for Saturday

Thursday concludes the intensive daily rehearsals for “The Versatile Show” which is to be held on the 8th of November, 2014 at the National theatre. The practice runs have been on-going at the Theatre for the past two months.

Okyeame Kwame and his ecclectic team of local actors, dancers and musicians have prepared tirelessly to bring nothing but the best of performances to the audience on D-day.

The rehearsals display the significant level of creativity being brought on board in terms of drama, music, poetry, dance and comedy.

The show is written by Okyeame Kwame and co-directed by Kofi Antonio, Nii Tete and Alfred Elikem Kunutsor who are Masters Degree holders in performing arts.

The drama component tells a story from the point of view of five characters: The Pimp, The Politician, The Police, The Pastor and The Prostitute and reveals a society that pretends to be decent.

Meet Okyeame Kwame – The Ambitious Pimp
Not only is Okyeame Kwame a marvellous musician, but a very good actor. He plays the role of a pimp; a well-dressed, jealous and controlling man who does not joke with his business. He shows his versatility in a grand style.

Meet Ekow Smith-Asante – The Deceptive Politician
Actor Ekow Smith-Asante brings into the show his impressive acting chops as he plays the role of a clumsy, impatient, unreasonable, and unreliable politician.

He promises all but gives nothing. He acts so well that audiences cannot help but fall in love with his deceitful character.

Meet Adjetey Annan – The Aggressive Professor
Another actor who is triggering the versatile show this year is Adjetey Annan popularly called ‘Pusher’.

He is seen in his element this time as a smart and argumentative professor who does not believe in the existence of God. He is bound to blow the minds of the audience with his arty skills.

These actors among other great ones will be entertaining, informing as well as educating Ghanaians in a meticulous way.

On the music component, outstanding musicians such as Samini, Bradez, Edem,  EL, Adina, Keche, Praye Eugene (Choir Master), Yasmeen and many more will be thrilling us with amazing performances.

Don’t miss out on this must see performance on the 8th of November at the National Theatre. Show times are twice that day; 4 pm – 6 pm and 8 pm – 10 pm and cost a cool GH ₵ 100 .

Tickets are available at Koala, Baatsona Total, Airport Shell, Peace Fm, Citi Fm, Silverbird, Frankies, all University Campuses in Accra and Tema Shell Fuel Station.
