Last night, SHINE/SKITTER Magazine unveiled the latest jewellery and accessories trends for 2016, at an exclusive dealer event held at Mercedes-Benz Century City in Cape Town.
After partnering with Anglo American Platinum and Metal Concentrators and their annual Plat Africa 2015 Awards in Johannesburg earlier this month to celebrate the 2016 edition of SHINE/SKITTER, last night Cape Town’s elite was treated to the unveiling the annual glossy showcase of the world’s finest gems, jewellery designs and watches – along with the launch of the latest Mercedes-Benz SUV range in South Africa.
At the recent Plat Africa 2015 Awards in Johannesburg, the Magnificent Seven Collection showed off creations by top platinum designers who were invited to create futuristic collections using up to 300grams of platinum. The Magnificent Seven Collection was chosen in celebration of the 25th Anniversary of Metal Concentrators and celebrated seven of South Africa’s top platinum designers.
All the dazzling jewellery and accessory designs from the Magnificent Seven Collection were showcased at last night’s launch in Cape Town, including the designs of winning designer was Chris van Rensburg of Studio C, with his exciting Lotus Collection.
Having launched the latest Mercedes-Benz SUV range successfully in Namibia recently, Cape Tonians were treated to an exclusive view of the newest Mercedes-Benz SUV range – now available in South Africa.
“Currently, we have five successful SUV model series on the market: GLA, GLC, GLE Coupé, GLE and G-Class and there are more to come,” says Florian Seidler, Co-CEO Mercedes-Benz South Africa & Executive Director, Mercedes-Benz Cars.
“Our SUV range inherits all the off-road genes from our iconic G-Class,” adds Seidler.
The latest issue is Shine/Skitter Magazine is bagged with the bumper December 2015 editions of FAIRLADY, True Love, Sarie and Grazia — a showcase of THE female glossy magazines in South Africa.
This massive reach makes SHINE/SKITTER the biggest luxury, jewellery and watch publication in South Africa, offering almost every woman in the country the opportunity to enjoy the very latest in exquisite accessories. Previous cover models of this prestigious annual magazine include international model Candice Boucher as well as the self-dubbed Queen of SA Media and TV presenter, Bonang Matheba.
This year’s editions of SHINE/SKITTER feature a quartet of TV presenters, each with their own spotlight on the four magazine covers: Expresso presenters Zoe Brown and Leigh-Anne Williams, Top Billing’s Jade Hubner as well as Afternoon Express host, Bonnie Mbuli.
VIP guests celebrated the magazine’s latest theme, Modern Glamour, in style which saw the likes of celebrities, bloggers, media and socialites in attendance last night. These included: Top Billing’s Jade Hubner; Expresso’s Leigh-Anne Williams and Zoe Brown; SABC3 Wine A Home presenter, Khanya Siyengo; TV presenter and radio DJ, Kia Johnson; Afternoon Express host, Bonnie Mbuli; ENCA anchor, Tanya Nefdt, TV presenter and model Aminat Ayinde, as well as comedian, Angel Campey.
