A special send-off party for the outgoing Nigeria’s High Commissioner to Ghana, Oluseyi Ademola Onafowokan has been slated for Sunday, 1 November 2015 at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra.

Ghana-based Nigerian newspaper, The Sun is organizing the event in recognition of the impressive performance of the envoy in Ghana since 2012.

Mr. Onafowokan’s tenure came to an end recently after he attained the mandatory retirement age of 60.

‘During his years as a career diplomat, Ambassador Onafowokan offered meritorious services to his fatherland,  as well as countries of accreditation, the last being Ghana,’ a press statement issued on Thursday in Accra indicated.

The statement, signed by Shola Oshunkeye, Managing Director/Editor-in-Chief of The Sun Publishing Ghana Limited, said the event would start at 7pm.

Ghana’s Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration Minister, Hanna Tetteh, the High Commissioner of Zimbabwe to Ghana and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, Tendal Musoka, as well as other prominent personalities would be in attendance.

‘And it is expected to attract the crème de la crème of the diplomatic corps in Ghana, top government officials and professionals, businesspeople and other eminent personalities from both Nigeria and Ghana.’
