Rule Of Law No Longer Exists In Africa- Dr Maurice Ampau

Dr. Lawyer Maurice Ampau, a renowned Ghanaian legal practitioner has revealed that the principle of the rule of law which implies equality before the law is no longer working in Ghana and the African continent at large.

This according to him is as a result of the fact that, the ordinary people doesn’t know their rights which has led to the abuse of our sovereign power by our leaders which has made us beggers in our own countries. “It is now about the rule of whom you know”, it is bout power we all vote to give to the presidency and those whom we elect and we later beg for favours so instead of championing democracy in Africa, we are championing personalities” we looked at political parties and the presidency as the Alpha and Omega they decide for us and they rule us with impurity”. He said.

He revealed this during a graduation ceremony of the final year students of the 2015 academic year of Yonkodo Multimedia College, a renowned Media Institution in Accra on Sunday November 1st, 2015 at the Penticost University, Soutuom- Accra.

Dr. Ampau who was the guest speaker at the ceremony has also charged the media to back up their duties as they are not doing enough to fight the ills of our society. He has therefore urged the media to do more to educate, inform and impact knowledge in the masses and also expose the evils fighting against our country without any fear or favour.

”There is too much evil in our system because the media houses have allowed men of God to take over the air waves and today, we have situations where pastors have stop preaching the gospel and are selling Jesus Christ for money” they are selling anointing oil”Dadie bi twa Dadie” and they have become fraudsters”. He added.
