Release Kempis Audit Report – TMA Told

Robert Kempis Ofosuware
PRESSURE IS mounting on the Tema Metropolitan Assembly (TMA) to make public the report of an audit on alleged malfeasance in the assembly during the tenure of the former mayor, Robert Kempis Ofosuware.

Member of Parliament (MP) for Tema East, Daniel Nii Kwatei Titus-Glover, speaking to DAILY GUIDE, explained that the disclosure of the report is significant for the purpose of transparency and accountability.

According to him, disclosing the content of the audit report would boost the credibility of the assembly and boost the confidence of the people in its operations.

He said people in the metropolis suspect some malfeasance during the administration of Mr. Ofosuware as TMA boss which he claimed the current leadership of the assembly was trying to shield.

‘A complaint was lodged on allegations against TMA and the former mayor and investigations were conducted. The report was submitted to the heads of the assembly but the assembly is shielding it,’ he pointed out.

Mr. Titus-Glover advised TMA to expedite action to reverse the perceived corruption allegations against the assembly and the former mayor.

‘When he came to Tema, there were so many government lands that he sold. The children’s park, the TMA where the Zenith Bank is, he sold that land then those at Community 7 and 8 and other places,’ he mentioned.

‘There were lots of rot at the TMA; there is an audit report about him; why are they shelving it? Why are they shielding that audit report about the mess that he created at the TMA that made him to be changed?’ Mr. Titus-Glover quizzed.

He further appealed to the assembly and the government to take the appropriate action against anyone found culpable in any corrupt practices.
