Police Gets 40 Motorbike Gift

Caitec Delta Ghana Limited, a Chinese firm providing building & construction, air conditioning and electrical services, has donated 40 Boxer BM 150 motorbikes to the Ghana Police Service in support of the latter’s fight against crimes in the country.

Presenting the bikes to the Police Service on Tuesday at the Police Headquarters in Accra, Managing Director of Caitec Delta Limited, Tang Hong reiterated the long standing partnership between China and Ghana which he said had spanned over 55 years.

He expressed the belief that the 40 motorbikes purchased at a cost of GH¢ 160,000, will go a long way to help improve the operations of the police.

The Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP), John Kudalor who received the motorbikes on behalf of the Ghana Police Service praised the gesture of Caitec Delta Limited and hoped that other corporate organizations would follow suit.

According to him, the donation will help the Police Service to, as he puts it, revamp its Community Policing Unit.

Caitec Delta Limited has accordingly been supporting the Community Police Department of the Ghana Police Service over the years, donating 12 motorbikes in December 2014 to the Service.

Touching on the relationship between Ghana and China over the years, the IGP indicated that the Ghana Police Service has benefited immensely from the cooperation with the Chinese Government.

The Inspector-General of Police seized the opportunity to appeal to the Chinese Government for logistical support for the Ghana Police towards providing security in the 2016 elections.

Chinese Ambassador to Ghana, Sun Bouhong indicated that bilateral relationship between Ghana and China remains fruitful.

She reiterated China’s pledge to provide expert training to personnel of the Ghana Police Service in the coming years.
