Otumfour To Inaugurate Film Directors Guild


The Asantehene Otumfour Osei Tutu II is set to inaugurate the national executives of the newly formed Directors Guild of Ghana into office.

The Film Directors Guild of Ghana (FDGG) was launched February 27, 2015 and has since remained one of the recognized associations in Ghana’s movie industry.

The Public Affairs Officer of the Film Directors Guild of Ghana (FDGG) Mr. James Clarke has revealed that the grand inaugural ceremony is schedule to come on 12th November , 2015 at the Center for National Cultural Kumasi.

In an exclusive interview with SeanCitygh.com James Clarke said plans are under way to make the association one of the vibrant body in the film industry.

He said the Association seeks to bring film directors across the country under one umbrella to champion a worthy cause.

Mr. Clarke stressed on the need for film makers and the government of Ghana to collaborate and

establish a strong film industry.

He further pleaded on the ministry of tourism and creative arts to create an edifice for movie production or allow them to use state houses when the needed arises.

The Actors Guild PR told seancitygh.com that, they have schedule a meeting with the security agencies to build a rapport with them.

James Clarke called on movie directors in Ghana who are not part of the association to join them for the betterment of the film industry.
