NPP Linguists Flay On Sir John

The group, led by Charles Akowiah, Tain Constituency NPP Communication Director said that Sir John’s recent ‘unpalatable’ statements have the potential of putting the NPP in bad light.

In a press release, the Concerned Communication Members of the NPP said, ‘As a General Secretary, we expect him (Sir John) to be more concerned with a roadmap to wrestling power in 2016 than being a talkative.’

They said Sir John categorically stated that Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the 2012 presidential candidate of the party, would come back as flagbearer in 2016 even if he is in a wheelchair.

Sir John stated that the party would go for a review despite the official position of the party, they noted.

‘We must say that we are very much disappointed in our General Secretary for making such unpleasant divide and rule tactics. In any case, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has stated that he will not go for a review. Moreover, he has said that he is taking leave and very soon he will make known to us his stance on politics. Where from this kind of disrespect from our General Secretary?’ they quizzed.

The Akowiah-led group warned that they would resist attempts by Sir John to use Nana Addo to maintain his position as the General Secretary.

‘We further stress that he (Sir John) will be assessed by his performance and conduct so he better watch out.’
