Nollywood Oge Okoye Salutes Root Eye

Oge Okoye, INSET: Root Eye
Popular Nollywood actress Oge Okoye took to her facebook page on Friday to shower praises on Ghana’s TV3 presenter and musician, Root Eye, for his new song that was released last Saturday, November 8.

Oge had said Root Eye’s new song titled, ‘Heaviest Rain’, is ‘the best lovers’ rock of the year’, and urged her fan base and followers to share the message across the African continent and beyond, ahead of the song’s release on Saturday.

It is unclear what relationship exists between the two personalities. Her gesture didn’t just surprise some entertainment observers but it also came at a time when some Ghanaian artistes are complaining about how Ghanaian artistes don’t support each as compared to their Nigerian counterparts.

Last week Ghana’s R&B sensation, Chase Forever, also complained about the phenomenon when he spoke to NEWS-ONE .

‘The industry flushes out artistes every day. You know I’ve been relevant since I took off and I appreciate that. What I don’t appreciate is the way we gravitate to everything that comes from outside. I feel like even we the artistes do a lot of ‘ass kissing.’

‘Say I have an album out, how many artistes did you see post that to promote it? We don’t even support each other, to begin with… then we turn around and complain the foreigners (Africans) are more successful—Nigerians, etc,’ Chase said in that interview.

Recently, Lydia Forson was also in the news over issues relating to support by media. But whatever it is, the question about whether ‘supporting each other as artistes’ is a big deal in the entertainment industry or not, still lingers.
