AUSSIE GHANA, a non-governmental organisation (NGO) operating in Accra yesterday donated computers and accessories valued at GH¢5,300 to the Accra Regional Police Command.

Chairman of Aussie Ghana, Gambo Iddrisu Wangabi, who donated the items on behalf of the NGO, said the donation was in recognition of what he described as the crime combating efforts of men and women of the service.

Mr Gambo, who is also the assembly member for Lartebiokoshie, Accra, was hopeful that the computers and accompanying accessories would enhance the administrative work of the Ghana Police Service.

He further commended the police for working hard in the time past to reduce crime in the region and challenged them to do more since the security of the region lied in their bosom.

The chairman assured that the NGO would from time to time support the police with necessary office equipment.

Accra Regional Police Commander, DCOP Christian Tetteh Yohuno, thanked Aussie Ghana, promising that the police was going to put the computers in good use especially in the facilitation of both official and clerical duties.
