Mass Transfer For Manso Nkwanta Police

DCOP Kofi Boakye, during the meeting with the Amansie West DCE

ALL SERVING policemen at Manso Nkwanta in the Amansie West District of the Ashanti Region will be transferred from the area soon.

The Ashanti Regional Police Command has directed that all policemen at Manso Nkwanta be replaced with immediate effect for strategic reasons.

DCOP Kofi Boakye, the Ashanti Regional Police Commander, unleashed the bombshell when he visited Manso Nkwanta on Wednesday.

He reached the decision after he separately interacted with chiefs, police, government officials and the people of the town about the security situation.

Virtually all the responses DCOP Kofi Boakye got from the various quarters indicated that the people were not happy about the police’s output.

For instance, the DCE for Amansie West, Alex Kwame Bonsu, without mincing words, said ‘we need total overhauling of policemen here.’

The DCE said most of the policemen at Manso Nkwanta have stayed in the town for a long time and made lots of friends, adding, ‘and it is affecting their performance.’

DCOP Kofi Boakye, who was on a fact-finding mission to uncover the cause of highway robbery and robbery at mining sites, was not happy about the reports.

In order to curb the robbery menace at Manso Nkwanta, he stated that all policemen in the area would be replaced with new and energetic ones soon.

The move, he explained, would help restore public confidence in the police and also contribute to preventing armed robbers from operating in the area.

DCOP Kofi Boakye stated that the police are on top of the security situation, assuring that robberies at Manso Nkwanta and the nearby areas would stop.

According to him, the hoodlums would be chased from all corners until they left the area for the people to go about their legitimate businesses in peace.
