Make Party Interest Supreme –John Ocansey


Mr. John Ocansey, a parliamentary aspirant of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Weija- Gbawe constituency, is calling on members and parliamentary aspirants of the party within the constituency and across the country to make the party’s interest supreme over their individual parochial interests.

Mr. John Ocansey, better known throughout the constituency as ‘John 20:16′, former treasure, who is highly tipped to win massively in the upcoming parliamentary primaries to lead the Weija- Gbawe NDC into 2016 general elections, made this all important call in a exclusive interview with The Ghanaian Observer newspaper.

Mr. Ocansey, who, according to the constituents is quietly working seriously within the constituency and endearing himself to the party members, said the constituency needed a transformational leader, an innovator and a development- oriented personality who could address the numerous challenges facing the constituents.

These qualities, the holder of Bachelor of Art in Political Science (Legon),Masters in Corporate Governance (UCC), He holds senior management positioin in a reputable public institution, he also have over 17years experience in management corporate governance, said were his hallmarks.

Though, information available to the paper indicates that Mr. Ocansey appears to be the people’s favourite, he said he will not relax until the battle is over.

The young politician, who is also a competent CEO, metioned youth unemployment, poor road network and poverty, as some of the challenges which ought to be tackled.

He expressed grave concern about disunity and apathy among party members in the constituency, and reminded them that they could only win the Weija-Gbawe seat in 2016 with a united and solid front.

The NDC Parliamentary aspirant, who occupies the No. 1 position on the ballot paper of the contestants, said when elected as the candidate in the November primary, he would focus attention on poverty alleviation, youth and women empowerment, community development, and job creation , among others, to improve the living standards of the constituents.

On campaign ahead the primary, Mr. Ocansey advised the other aspirants to make it clean and neat, by avoiding personality attacks in order not to tear the party apart in the constituency.

He also admonished registered members of the party to vote for John Ocansey and John Mahama, and try as much as possible not to be induced with money, but to vote for a winnable candidate for 2016.

“It is all about the candidate who can take the party in the constituency to the Promised Land, and John Ocansey is that Moses to take Weija-Gbawe to Canaan. ” a confident John said.
