Mahama has presided over lies, misery – Freddie Blay

The acting National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Freddie Blay says President John Mahama cannot escape from criticism after failing to deliver on the mandate for which he was voted into office.

Speaking at a press conference in Accra Wednesday, Mr Blay insisted that the President will be subjected to public scrutiny whether he likes it or not.

“We will talk about his incompetence. It has been two terms of lies, misery and wasted opportunity, two terms of pure incompetence and we will talk about it”.

His posture is coming on the heels of President Mahama singling out vice presidential candidate of the NPP, Dr. Bawumiah and bashing him for daring to speak on the president’s “incompetence”.

“Do you know what it takes to be a president? And you stand and say incompetent Mahama administration,” the President wondered. “I will not allow useless insults to distract me”, he told supporters of the National Democratic Congress during his ‘Changing Lives, Transforming Ghana tour’ in Accra.

But Mr Blay has mounted a strong defence for Dr. Bawumiah, stating that the president and his administration have indeed been incompetent and should be receive the criticisms in good faith.

He was confident the NDC would be voted out in 2016 due to its incompetence and replaced with a party with a solid track record.

The NPP, according to him, is better placed to govern the country and take it out of the hardship the NDC has plunged it into.

“Put the entire eight-year record of the NDC against the NPP, put our presidential candidate and his running mate against the president and his vice and let the people of Ghana be the judge as to who is competent and can be trusted to lead this country”, he challenged.
