Kumawood Is Booming Ghana Film Industry – Portia Asare Boateng


Veteran Ghanaian Actress Portia Asare Boateng says the indigenous Movies (Local) has grown over the years, with significant improvements in the Film Industry.

She said though we are still on the hope road for that day when we can look at things and say, we’ve truly arrived.

Few years ago, the movie industry had diverse stories to tell but the actors, directors and even equipment to be used in telling these stories were a mess, and that gave different faces of sub-standard productions.

But in an exclusive interview with SeanCitygh.com, Portia Asare Boateng said the film industry has come to stay and it has made a significant stride despite its many challenges.

She said currently, the industry boasts a new crop of actors who are going international.

Portia is who still on maternity leave from the screen added that, the she is much impressed about the kind of cameras, scripts, and the quality of stories that is projecting Ghanaian rich culture.
