Knowledge Is Power—Matilda Amissah Arthur Reiterates


The Wife of the Vice President, Mrs. Matilda Amissah-Arthur, has called on school children in the country to take their lessons serious in order to become future leaders, because Knowledge is Power.

Mrs. Amissah-Arthur gave the advice on Tuesday 17th of February during a visit to Osu Kaadjaanor JHS, when she donated Ten Laptops, five desk tops computers with five UPS and set of books for the school.

She said her being to the school was as result of a correspondence from the head teacher of the school Mr.who discussed some issues confronting the school, especially their ICT Centre some months ago, so decided to contact the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEX) to source for some help.

The Wife of the Vice president, called on the teaches to take good care of the computers and books and also help the school children to make maximum use of it, by getting a chaperon for them as a guide.

She said her understanding is that the school has an affiliation with Springwood high school in the UK, so the need for the children to correspond with their colleagues out there through ICT. Thus Mail which is faster and very educative,

Mrs. Matilda Amissah Arthur called on the children to use the opportunity given them to make natural and educative friends outside Ghana and also discuss educative issues about Ghana, instead of using it for things that would not help, example is asking them for money toys and visas which would not help.

Mrs Matilda Amissah Arthur praised the PTA for making an effort by raising some of the funds for the ICT Centre, saying heaven helps those who help themselves called on parents and guardians to also act as role models for their children and also see to it that they shine.

On his part the head teacher of the school Theodore Adjei took the opportunity to thank the wife of the Vice President Mrs. Matilda Amissah Arthur, for her continuous role modeling in the area of care-given to the poor and the less privileged in society for a better future of our children and promised that they would make good use of the computers and books that she has brought to them.
