King Ayisoba To Host Batakari Night

King Ayisoba will on January 30 perform at the second edition of a musical concert dubbed ‘Batakari Night’ at the Alliance Française in Accra.

Ayisoba, who took the country by storm a couple of years ago, is set to showcase a number of fresh compositions that have influences from his recent tours of Europe and other African countries.

The event is aimed at encouraging everyone to wear Batakari, one of the few wholly locally produced fabrics in use today.

Artistes to thrill patrons on the night alongside King Ayisoba are Wanlov the Kubolor, Kwaw Kese, Stevo Atambire, Yaa Pono and Zea from Holland, whom King Ayisoba has worked extensively with.

King Ayisoba has made great waves with his ‘kologo’ sounds since he was discovered in the Ghanaian music scene in 2005.

King Ayisoba’s style of music is melodic and percussive. He has displayed diversity and innovation by using traditional instruments together with hiplife; a style that emerged in Ghana in the mid-90s and contains hip-hop and dancehall elements beats. His lyrics are very personal, sometimes funny, often urgent and always imaginative.
