Juliet Ibrahim calls on Movie Producers and Filmakers to Boycott Ghana Movie Awards 2015.

About a year ago , it will be recalled that award winning actress, Juliet Ibrahim , accused the organizers of the annual Ghana Movie Awards of awarding the same individuals yearly.

The event organizers are in trouble again ,as the actress has called on fellow movie producers and major stakeholders in the movie industry to boycott this year’s movie awards.

According to the movie producer, the organizers are complete scammers.

The 29 year old in a series of tweets on the micro blogging site Twitter Saturday afternoon, also expressed her disappointment in the award organisers for nominating Idris Elba .

Read tweets below:

I have questioned the ghana movie awards from its first year till date!Only a few will recall. Glad everyone has seen now. Lol

If you want a way to get Idris Elba to attend your award event simply invite him and nominate him for best actor in diaspora why stress it

I know and I have proof I was ripped off an award last year That’s why I have vowed never to attend GMA til you fix this scam. Stop cheating

If all producers in Ghana can come together and boycott this awards this year they will understand we mean business. Unity is all we need

When wil Ghanaians start recognizing &appreciating their own hardworking young producers and actors?is it only when we make it to Hollywood?

However, the founder and CEO of the Ghana Movie Awards, Fred Nuamah has disclosed that ”Beast of No Nation ” starring Idris Elba ( Actor In a Supporting Role ) qualifies to be nominated since it was ‘produced by a Ghanaian’.

He cited Tony Tagoe and Danny Damah as the producers of the movie, thus the reason why Beasts Of No Nation qualified for the award. The two were therefore nominated for the BestPicture nod. The film’s IMDb page lists Daniel Damah as a line producer for Ghana, and Tony Tagoe as co-producer.
