Jamaicas D-Major Talks Collaboration In Ghana & Real Know Real Song

Jamaica’s D-Major Talks Collaboration In Ghana & ‘Real Know Real’ SongJamaican Reggae musician, D-Major has indicated with sincerity that although he has less knowledge about the musical landscape of the Dancehall/Reggae genre in Ghana, but “it appears to me that there are lots of great acts out there in Ghana.”

“And I definitely look forward to exploring it with collaborations as there are quite an interesting number of creative-minded acts just like myself out in Ghana and I will collaborate with anyone that aligns himself or herself to good music,” he said in an interview with AmaLarbieAfrica.com.

Ghana has such gifted Dancehall/Reggae acts including AK Songstress, Kaakie, MzVee, Samini, Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, and Vybrant Faya, a few to mention.

Known for the inspirational song, ‘Real Know Real bou yah’; D-Major, born Damian Codlin has indicated that the lyrics of the song which talks about being good, real and honest with people just came up upon hearing the riddim.

Recorded on the Street Of Gold Riddim, produced and mixed by Shane C. Brown of Penthouse Records; he said, “the realness in people has rather been more highlighted nowadays as very few know or see the essence of being real with their fellows. I must say lately, it is quite difficult knowing who is real or not.”

According to D-Major, he encountered no challenges coming up with this song (Real Know Real Bou Yah); as “it is a daily life activity. The rate of bad minds reflects in almost every activity such people put out even in music, there are too much of bad mind songs out there.”

Adding, “but I am with this song, ‘Real know Real bou yah’ celebrating all real people worldwide. #GiveThanks.”

On the video concept of the song, he outlined, “basically, the concept of ‘Real know real bou yah’ is about two good friends, but a time came when one (friend A) framed up the other (friend B).”

In the end, he continued, “friend A was rather caught up in his set up, and friend B who although knew about the set up went to ‘bail’ him (friend A) out. Therefore, Friend B becomes the real person here.”

Meanwhile, D-Major has released his ‘It’s Major’ album which has songs like ‘Real Know Real’, ‘Naked’ and ‘No More Distance’ featuring Busy Signal released which have been increasing in popularity on the local and international music scene.
