IMANI boss brings ¢11m defamation suit against two NDC sympathisers

IMANI boss Franklin Cudjoe has brought an 11 million cedis defamation suit against the Editor of the Daily Post Newspaper Michael Dokosi and a known NDC sympathiser Dela Coffie.

The two in several publications accused Mr Cudjoe of faking his Curriculum Vitae and professional credentials to win awards from international organisations.

The January 16, edition of the paper came with the headline “Meet Franklin Cudjoe, the Liar” whilst the January 19 edition came with the banner headline “Identity fraud!… Group chases Franklin Cudjoe as more questions about his CV crop up.”

Mr Cudjoe feels scandalized by the serialization of what he describes as pure fabrication calculated to dent his reputation. Hehas proceeded to court.

In a writ of summons filed at the Accra High Court, a copy of which is in the possession of, the plaintiff is seeking 10 million cedis in damages against Dela Coffie and an additional 1 million cedis against Michael Dokosi.

The plaintiff is also seeking an order of perpetual injunction to restrain the defendants from going ahead with any such publication.

Cudjoe is again seeking an order from the court to compel the two to retract and fully apologise for the comments published.

The defendants have within eight days to enter an appearance after they have been served with the writ.
