‘I’LL Retire ET Mensah’

Sam George Nartey being hailed by his supporters

PRESIDENTIAL STAFFER, Samuel George Nartey, has stated that he will retire the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ningo-Prampram Constituency, Hon Enoch Teye Mensah, from politics.

‘Hon E.T Mensah has had his days in the sun and the people of Ningo-Prampram are very grateful to him for 20 good years’ monumental services of sacrifice but the time has come for him to bow out and that clock has alarmed. It is my time and my people are asking me to lead them,’ he said.

Samuel Gorge, who is challenging E.T Mensah and one Michael Kwetey Tetteh, made these known after filing his nomination form at Prampram in the Greater Accra Region to contest the Ningo-Prampram parliamentary primaries.

Prior to the filing of the nomination, the presidential staffer led a crowd of party enthusiasts through a float from Ningo to Prampram.

He maintained he is not a Nigerian but only schooled there like he did in United Kingdom, saying that “if E.T Mensah says I am a Nigerian, my mum is his cousin, which means we are all Nigerians. I was born in Somanya; so it’s unfortunate he made those comments.”

According to him, the Ningo-Prampram seat does not belong to E.T Mensah, discrediting the rumour that E.T Mensah was his boss.

‘Before the PNDC came to being under Ft Lt Jerry John Rawlings, Enoch Teye Mensah was a name nobody in this country knew him, thanks to Ft Lt Rawlings who picked Enoch Teye Mensah for being an account clerk at University of Ghana, Legon, made him a deputy minister, made him minister of state and became a household name,’ he mentioned.

He is hopeful that the people of Ningo-Prampram NDC will give him the mandate to lead them, noting that it is a battle for him and E.T Mensah.

The presidential staffer said he is seeking a four-year mandate in Parliament to improve human capital development, focusing on the youth since most of the youth are not meaningfully employed.
