I ‘m Yet To Consider NPP Flagbearship Slot – Oboshie Sai Coffie

Former Information Minister under the Kufuor administration, Oboshie Sai Coffie has stated that she is yet to consider running for the 2016 flagbearer slot of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

“I must say I’m a bit surprised. It’s not something that has occupied my thinking at the current time,” she said.

About 15 persons are reported to possibly vie for the flagbearship position of the NPP ahead of the 2016 elections.

Some of the names include the 2012 vice presidential candidate of the NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Oboshie Sia Coffie and a host of others.

Responding to the media report to Citi News, Madam Coffie noted that the party is in a transition stage “and we are not sure yet how things are going to move forward so in such times, names get thrown out so in that light, I don’t think it’s too surprising.”

She counseled the party to focus “on restructuring, making sure that we can hold and find tune in the party into a strong one that can win an election because whoever stands must stand on the back of the party and must win.”

The former Minister added she will back any candidate who is elected to lead the NPP in 2016.
