I Come From A Very Poor Family Mzvee

Lynx Entertainment act MzVee has revealed that she came from a poor family.

The Abofra singer who released her second album Verified last week said this while talking about how to end extreme poverty in Ghana as an ambassador for the World Bank’s End Extreme Poverty campaign.

The event organized by TEDxAccra took place at the World Bank office at Ridge in Accra.

“I grew up from poor background. I remember when I was young; my family of six were all staying in one bedroom in someone else’s house.

“But I’m glad my mom learnt catering which I will say helped my parent get out of extreme poverty. Now she has three restaurants and over 100 employees,” she said.

MzVee bagged for herself an ambassadorial deal with the World Bank. A deal that will see her work with the World Bank on their ‘End Extreme Poverty’ campaign.

She together with her record label Lynx Entertainment have made a commitment to assist with the End Poverty campaign through education, and as such will be starting a scholarship program for children in need of financial assistance to further their education.

MzVee will be embarking on a high school tour, where seminars will be held on the importance of education. Students who meet the scholarship criteria will be selected from the schools and granted full educational scholarship.
