I am devastated by Miss Honduras’s death – Miss Ghana

Miss Ghana 2013, Nadia Ntanu has expressed shock at the murder of Miss Honduras 2014, Maria Jose Alvarado.

Maria, who had been due to compete in the upcoming Miss World contest in London in December, was murdered together with her sister, Sofia Trinidad.

Two men have been arrested after the two were found dead a week after disappearing.

Maria and Sofia went missing last Thursday after being seen leaving a party near the northern city of Santa Barbara.

Nadia Ntanu, who left Accra on Tuesday for the finals of the Miss World pageant in the United Kingdom said she is devastated by Maria’s death.

She said in a statement, copied to Myjoyonline.com Thursday, that: “I am devastated by the death of Miss Honduras 2014, Maria Jose Alvarado, and her Sister.”

According to her, she “was looking forward to meeting Maria at this year’s Miss World but events of the past few days have made it impossible. May they rest in peace.”                                                                                                       

Nadia, mourning with the family said, her thoughts and prayers are with her family and the Honduran people “as we all mourn a beautiful soul.”

This year’s Miss World finals will take place at ExCel London on December 14.
