Ho Central MP commits over GHc570, 000 into dev’t projects

Member of Parliament for Ho Central in the Volta region has committed over GH¢570, 000 from his share of various statutory funds into educational projects in his constituency.

Benjamin Kpodo, who is in his first term in Parliament, is convinced only education can liberate his constituents from poverty and under-development.

A three classroom block worth GHc100,000 expected to be completed in August this year is under construction at the Viave-Lume.

Another six classroom block has been awarded for construction at Takla, also in the constituency while a four classroom block for the Ho Nurses Training College is nearing completion.

Mr. Kpodo who serves on the Finance Committee of Parliament told Myjoyonline.com the developments are geared towards giving opportunity to his constituents to access education.

Benjamin Kpodo, who for many years worked at Senior Management level at the University of Education Winneba, said he will continue to use his new position as a legislator to lobby for more developments in the constituency.

He pledged to work closely with government as part of measures to meet key challenges facing his constituents.

During the Christmas festivities, for instance, he made separate donations comprising assorted food items to the Ho Leprosarium as well as a similar donation to inmates at the Ho Central Prison and orphanages in the constituency.

He appealed to Ghanaians to exercise patience, promising that with time the National Democratic Congress government will deliver on promises made to the people of the Volta Region and Ghana in general.
