Highlife Songster Prince One Day Debuts Video

Ghanaian highlife Messiah Stephen Kofi Kumi aka Prince One Day has debut his much anticipated video for the song ‘Aha ne ebo so’ on Underground TV which airs on Homebase and Light TV.

The song which talks about jamming spots where enjoyment is unlimited has been rocking radios in Accra and beyond.

One Day started music his music career as a rapper, but soon find himself doing highlife which is of course indigenous to Ghana and he says he choose this genre as it helps him talk more about the problems facing Ghana and Africa to the level that everybody is able to hear and understand him.

When he was growing up, he used to imitate an uncle of his who was a musician, little did he know that this is the path God has chosen for him. This realization only came to him when in 2001, he put pen to paper to write his first song at the commencement of his high school education.

The idea of learning the guitar came to him when he decided to take his music career to a professional level and today, the artiste can play the guitar very well and thus making him a wonderful live performer to watch.

He says he is greatly inspired by musicians like Fela Kuti of Nigeria, Salif Keita of Mali, Yousou Ndo of Senegal and Amakye Dede, Nana Ampadu and Kojo Antwi all from Ghana.

Prince One Day believes that music is a great tool to speak to the society and so must be used wisely.

The artiste says he chose the name Prince One Day because a man’s transformation, whether good or bad, starts on a particular day which can be broken down into hour, minutes or even a second.

As he puts it, everything you say is music, provided you have your rhythm. According to him, this philosophy has led him to release songs like Rambo part 1, Garri and Krokyia (high heels) amongst others, which are on his yet to be released eight tracker debut album.

Prince One Day is signed to Street Hit Records owned by McKnight Elabor CEO of ElaborBiz Multimedia.
