Help me find a wife;88-year old man pleads

An 88 year- old man is pleading with the team behind Nhyira FM’s magazine show, Obra, to help him to find a wife.

Kofi Amoateng is unable to tell how long his last wife has been dead but recounts she was run over by a vehicle in the line of work as a yam seller in Kumasi.

The relationship of many years produced ten children some of whom the retired electrical engineer says have been good to him, though he refused to speak of others.

Mr. Amoateng says living alone has been very difficult, but he has endured loneliness until now.

He left panelist on the show almost cracking their ribs with uncontrolled laughter when he touted his potency and readiness to satisfy any woman who would want to join him on the journey of life.

Mr. Amoateng spoke to host of Obra, Mama Efe Amanor, after he and other widows and widowers received a donation from Nhyira FM.

He is the first male beneficiary of the two-year old annual gesture by the station every February.

Men had been reluctant to register to receive support from the station’s initiative meant for both male and females.

February is regarded as the month of love, and the station, through its human -centered Obra show, has decided to put smiles on the faces of people who have lost their spouses.

The station, with support from some listeners in and outside the country, donated pieces of wax prints, undisclosed sums of money and loaves of A1 bread to the widows and widowers.

Up to four people benefit from the gesture every week-day in the month.

Mama Efe, believes as married couples share love, it is very important such sentiments are extended to those who have lost their spouses and others in need.

Meanwhile, all 70 for the month have been full of praises for the Multimedia Group and its collaborators.

Head of Programmes at Nhyira FM, Benjamin Ocran reveals the initiative will be extended to benefit more people in the coming years.
