Hearts Turn 103 Today

The Council of Patrons of Accra Hearts of Oak have extended their deepest gratitude to the Hearts of Oak family on the occasion of their 103rd anniversary.

A statement, signed by the acting president of the Council of Patrons, Mrs Aanaa Ennin, said it was the vision and rare foresight of the founding fathers that had brought the 2000 African champions this far and commended them for their role.

She regretted the poor performance of Hearts in the last few years but added that the board of directors had taken some decision which would see the club reclaim its status.

“We wish to observe with regret that our efforts on the field of play over the past year have not yielded the desired result,” the statement said.

Mrs Ennin said with the assembling of highly experienced technical team and the recruitment of 11 new players, it has surged the morale of supporters and urge management to capitalise on the ‘renew zeal of the fans to reorganise the supporters’ front’.

She added that the reorganisation of the Chapters, the clubs’ supporters arm, was the best tribute they could pay to the memory of their departed such as Kweku Adusei Kanawu and Wofa Henry Quartey.
