GhanaThink Foundation Presents Barcamp Accra 2015

BarCamp Accra 2015 is a free networking event to bring people together for a day of learning, sharing, networking and mentoring. The Father Christmas of Barcamps in Ghana will be held on December 19, 2015 at the Central Cafeteria of the University of Ghana Legon, Accra. The theme is “The Fight Against Corruption: The Role of the Youth”.

This Barcamp event will be the 55th organized by the GhanaThink Foundation , as part of its Barcamp Ghana program which is building a network of change makers, doers and entrepreneurs.

The Director of the GhanaThink Foundation, Ato Ulzen-Appiah says, “Barcamp Accra is seen as the Father Christmas of Barcamps in Ghana. We have this Barcamp in December to bring us together, whether from all over Ghana or in the Diaspora. Corruption is a canker, we are problem solvers. #Morevim!”

Barcamp Accraa aims to assemble stakeholders to build a supportive community and give birth to lasting professional partnerships. There would be a speed-mentoring session where participants would have the opportunity for a one-on-one interaction with mentors. There would also be a panel discussion on the theme. Akosua Hanson will moderate a panel on the theme featuring Anis Haffar, Nana Akosua Konadu, Kathleen Addy and Nana Akwasi Awuah.

The Lead for the Barcamp Accra team, Duncan Elikplim Gablah stated that, “the youth must see corruption as a weed to be destroyed from our midst and must be determined to fight it and not be passive. Barcamp Accra hopes to initiate a passion to fight corruption amongst the youth.”
