Ghana’s border with Togo not closed

The Ministry of Communications has denied reports in sections of the media that Ghana has closed its border with Togo at Aflao ahead of the impending elections in that country.

A statement signed by Minister for Communications, Dr. Edward K. Omane Boamah, said the reports are completely untrue as no such action has been taken.

The Ministry assured the general public that there are no threats to the security of Ghana emanating from Togo due to the impending elections which would warrant closure of our side border.

According to the statement, Ghana’s position is without prejudice to whatever security decisions the Republic of Togo will take ahead
