Ghana Needs Entrepreneurs To Drive Development—Angmortey


A consulting director of the Global Intelligence Consult, Emmanuel Angmortey has appealed to students of the tertiary institutions of Ghana to inculcate the habit of entrepreneurship so as to become managers of themselves and not to rely on others to employ them after school.

He said creating wealth comes from ones idea which needs to be developed step by step in other to become big at the end. He said coupled with high practical training would help students turn classroom talent into business ideas by adding business minded elements to give them a thorough grounding in the key concepts of entrepreneurship and Intrapreneurship for wealth creation which can position them to take up leadership roles in the future and help develop the country.

Speaking to modern Ghana news in Accra, Mr Emmanuel Angmortey said the general objective was to provide intensive and practical knowledge and competence in dealing with the risk of becoming entrepreneurs and creating their own businesses. This was at a job camp and industrial training programme for students of the tertiary institutions held in Accra which was mainly drawn from the University of Ghana, Accra polytechnic, UPSA etc.

Students who participated in the programme were taken through some elements of business operations which includes business letter writing, business plan writing, projections and budgeting, learning basic banking procedures, concept of micro-economics, risk and monitoring, customer service relations marketing etc.

The Global Intelligence consult is a leading firm which specialises in building the capacity enhancing the knowledge base in business growth and economic advancement to better their lives and development and their skills to better position them ahead of their competitors.

As part of the training programme a group of young entrepreneurs who have succeed in their chosen field of business were on hand to share their experience with the students and to impact into them the knowledge they have acquired over the years and how they can also make it through rough times in life.

The GIC has helped groomed many students in business since 2012 to date and are poised to expand their network to the other parts of the country.

According to team GIC it hopes to get majority of the students and individuals to understand the concepts of entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship so as to build business confidence in them and to be channels of change and ambassadors of risk takers.
