GHAMRO board present items to management

The Board of the Ghana Music Rights Organisation (GHAMRO) has handed over a vehicle and some equipment to the management to enhance efficiency at work.

The items provided include a 4×4 Nissan Navaro vehicle as well as six motor cycles, eight computers, printers and its accessories.

The donation was to facilitate the work of the regional offices in Koforidua, Tamale, Sunyani, Cape Coast, Takoradi, Bolgatanga, Ho and Kumasi.

Presenting the items, the Board Chairman, Mr. Kojo Antwi, said since its inauguration in March this year, it had been able to open satellite offices in the regions to decentralise its operations and bring it closer to clients.

Mr. Antwi urged the management of the organisation to open up its frontiers by engaging the users of their products in order to collect more royalties due to the GHAMRO.

He said with good management, they had been able to pay royalties to more than 3,800 members, adding that it had also set up a welfare fund for the members with four disbursements made.

Receiving the items on behalf of management, Mr. Jonathan Cudjoe, Director of Legal and Licence, expressed management’s profound gratitude to the Board for the gesture, and hoped it would go a long way to assist the satellite offices in the regions.

Ms Dzifa Gomashie, Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts who witnessed the ceremony, admonished beneficiaries to handle and maintain the equipment well for its longer life span.

Those present at the ceremony included Mr. Abraham Adjatey, Chief Officer, and some members of the organisation.
