German Coach Ernst Middendorp Unaware of Hearts Interest

German trainer Ernst Johannes Middendorp has quashed reports linking him with a move to Ghana Premier League side Accra Hearts of Oak.

Media reports have linked the Chippa United coach with a return to his former Club.

Hearts are in search of a new manager after sacking Coach Herbert Addo over poor performance.

Reports were rife that the Phobians have been in talks with the experienced coach to take up the vacant post at the Club.

The 56-year-old has however rebuffed the alleged move to the former Ghana Champions.

“I haven’t received any proposal from anyone. I am not in talk with any Club and am still working as head coach of Chippa United,” Middendorp is heard in an audio tape played on Atinka FM.

Middendorp managed Hearts of Oak from 2004-2005 having handled rivals Asante Kotoko.

He has also had stints with German Clubs Arminia Bielefeld, VfL Bochum and FC Augsburg going on to manage South Africa outfits Maritzburg United, Golden Arrows and Bloemfontein Celtic.
