Galamsey Activities Are Destroying Our Operations- Small Scale Miner


Nkosuohene of Anyinam and a small scale miner, Mohammed Ahmed(A.K.A Rasta) has expressed worry about activities of illegal miners (galamsey) which is having negative image and impact on their operations.

He has however appealed to chiefs to desist from leasing lands to illegal miners since their activities are threatening.

He made this kown when he handed over keys to Anyinam chief, Barima Kwaku Buabeng after renovating his residence for him during the last Akwasidae celebration of the year.

“I blame some chiefs for giving out lands to galamseyers even though they are aware of the negative impact it has on the people” he added.

He has however appealed to government to institute and strengthen bye laws that prevents chiefs from leasing out lands to such people.

On his development agenda, Mr. Ahmed hinted that, he has done a lot as part of his social responsibility and pledged to do more in the coming years.

“My people loves me because i have helped in terms of providing street lights and assisting in physical structures” he added.

He therefore called on his colleagues to give back to the community from which they operate.
