Friction On A Mission In ‘Love In The Streets’

Bringing more love and positivity into the world; that is the mission of Friction in his recently released program ‘Love in the Streets’. As Friction himself says: ‘There is too much hatred and negativity in the world nowadays, and I just wanted to do something to spread more positive vibes around’. Thinking about a way to do so, Friction decided to get out on the streets of Holland to let people dedicate his new single ‘I Love You’ to their loved ones.

The result is a lovely piece of positivity, with people dedicating the song to their husbands, daughters, best friends, mothers, grandmothers, and so on, and some people even singing the chorus of the song to this special person.

All of this can be seen in three episodes of Friction self-produced program ‘Love in the Streets’. Friction releases these videos online via his Youtubechannel Friction1984 and via his social media channels (www.facebook.com/frictionghana and www.twitter.com/frictionghana) .

Last week the first episode was released, which was recorded in front of the central station of Amsterdam and on the famous Dam Square. Episode 2 and 3 will follow in the upcoming weeks.

‘I Love You’

Friction released his single ‘I love You’ featuring CASiTAabout one and a half month ago, and since that time the song is spreading worldwide. With airplay on, for example, MTV Base, on a channel of BBC Radio and on stations from Jamaica till South Africa.Even the reggae legend Cocoa Tea reached out to Friction via twitter, saying that he loves the tune and the combination of voices.

Friction and CASiTA just finished the first part of their promo tour in Holland. They performed the song on festivals such as the Kwaku Festival and the Kente Festival, and they also visited several radio stations for interviews and live acoustic performances of the song.

Upcoming plans

Coming weeks Friction will keep on promoting his new single. But of course new plans are also in the making, such as the shooting of the video for his next single.

Fiction is also planning to produce more programs like ‘Love in the Streets’ with his production company ‘Friction Creative Productions’. ‘I have a lot more ideas for programs I want to produce. Not only love-related, but about different subjects. But one overall keyword for the things I will create with this production company is “positivity”’, Friction says.

‘Positivity’; that for sure is a good keyword to summarize Friction’s activities. And luckily that is something the world can never get enough from.
