Former Ashaiman MCE Was A Failure – Hon. Agbesi

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ashaiman, Alfred Kwami Agbesi, says the immediate-past Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Ashaiman, Numo Adinortey Addison failed during his tenure in office.

The Deputy Majority leader said Mr Addison totally wasted time and resources of the municipality.

According to him, the former MCE was completely ignorant of his responsibilities, hence his abysmal performance in very resourceful municipality like Ashaiman.

Hon. Agbesi, who spoke to a section of the media after a National Democratic Congress (NDC) stakeholder’s forum in Ashaiman, further stated that the former MCE, who is seeking to become the parliamentary candidate of Ashaiman, should not to venture into politics because he is inexperienced.

‘Look many things are happening in the constituency; people are telling lies but I keep quiet because when we come out the truth will be exposed.

‘For instance, a past Municipal Chief Executive will say development did not come to Ashaiman because MP didn’t bring development. I tell him this, he doesn’t know his duty. He has wasted four years in that office as a chief executive. I have decided not to answer to these things because at the appropriate time when the campaign starts you will hear me.

He said the former MCE totally retarded the development in the area during his tenure.

Mr. Agbesi, who is seeking a fourth term, was earlier accused by Mr. Addison of failing to lobby for development projects for the municipality.

Mr. Addison, when contacted by DAILY GUIDE over the issue, declined to comment, saying ‘Listen I don’t want to react to issues like these but they are all lies.’
