Film Premiere, Performances At Alliance Franaise

A movie titled “Human” by the award winning French filmmaker Yann Arthus-Bertrand, will on Friday January 22 be screened at the Alliance Française in Accra.

Working with a dedicated team of translators, journalists and cameramen, Arthus-Bertrand spent three years collecting real-life stories from 2,020 men and women in sixty countries.

These profoundly personal and emotional accounts are interspersed with stunning aerial footage that offers critical insight into life on earth that comprises an immersive and inspirational odyssey.

Among others, it rekindles the need for a movement to encourage reflection on the human condition, ignite a conversation around the meaning of our existence and empower people to make social change.

From freedom fighters in Ukraine, to farmers in Mali, to death row inmates in the United States, the film offers a significantly emotional and essential fresh documentation and portrait of our human condition in global and contemporary society, questioning the challenges our civilization faces.

The January edition of La Paillote Takpekpe will on Wednesday January 27 feature “Healing Handicapped Homes”- a concept by the dynamic poet Kwame Write that comprises a cool blend of film, poetry theatre, word art, dance and folk music.

“Nshorna”, a short film shot in Jamestown (Accra) starring young artist Attukwei Clottey, will premier as part of the event. Artists on the bill include Dahveed Nelson (an original member of The Last Poets USA,) folk musician Ras Bomba, Rewriters Trio, Wordsmith, C-Real and Burkinabe poet Balima Mahamadi.
