Fans Stranded At Ghana Must Go Premiere

Several movie fans who trooped to the Silverbird Cinemas at the Accra Mall on Saturday to watch popular actress Yvonne Okoro’s newly produced movie, Ghana Must Go, were left with no choice than to go home and return another day to watch the new comedy.

They couldn’t watch the movie as a result of limited space at the Silverbird Cinemas.

The premiere recorded the largest turnout in recent times. This forced Silverbird officials to stop selling tickets during the red carpet ceremony, as there were no spaces available in the cinema halls.

“We can’t watch the movie because they have stopped selling tickets. According to them, there is no more space and they don’t want to inconvenience us. We have to go home and come another day to watch it,” Nurudeen Mohammed, a patron, told NEWS-ONE.

All Silverbird cinemas were filled to capacity. The movie was shown seven times in different halls and becomes the first Ghanaian movie with such an enviable record.

“Yes, we have been informed that Ghana Must Go is the biggest showing in Ghana so far,” Yvonne Okoro confirmed.

“Thanks to everyone that turned up for Ghana Must Go… Don’t miss it. If you didn’t watch it then kindly go to Silverbird Cinemas – Accra Mall and West Hills – to watch,” she added on Instagram.

The premiere was attended by entertainment household names like Nkem Owoh aka Osuofia, Kofi Adjorlolo, Lydia Forson, Adjetey Anang, E.L, Sandra Ankobiah and Luckie Lawson. The rest include Roseline Okoro, Elizabeth Okoro, Nana Akua Addo and others.

Ghana Must Go is Yvonne Okoro’s Desamour Production Limited’s second production in three (3) years after her first movie, The Contract, in 2012.

It is directed by Frank Rajah Arase and stars some of the continent’s favourites such as Yvonne Okoro, Kofi Adjorlolo, Luckie Lawson, Blossom Chukwujekwu, Nkem Owoh and others who put up some invigorating performances.

After watching the movie, some contented patrons took to social media to congratulate the actress.
