Ex-Soldier Grabbed Over Police Recruitment Scam

The Brong Ahafo police is holding an ex-soldier over his alleged involvement in a recruitment scam.

Corporal (rtd) Francis Kpolley allegedly took Gh¢2000 from each victim to enlist them in the police service.

One of the recruits who is based in BA, according to the Brong Ahafo regional police command, reported him, leading to his arrest in Accra.

ASP Christopher Tawiah, who speaks for the command, said the 58-year-old who was arrested near Sowutuom is likely to be charged with fraud.

“One of the applicants reported him at the national police headquarters… we picked him from his home and he is currently in the custody of the police in the Brong Ahafo region,” ASP Tawiah told Accra-based Joy FM.

A few weeks ago, 13 people were arrested for allegedly recruiting for the National Security.

They were able to swindle over 300 persons and are currently in the custody of the police pending full investigations.
