Edward Mahama, Others Honoured

The Ga-Adangme Concerned Youth Group last Monday honoured three individuals at a brief ceremony at the headquarters of the People’s National Convention (PNC) in Accra.

Dr. Edward Nasigri Mahama, former flagbearer of the PNC, Sam George, presidential staffer and Naa Anamuah of Wulomei Essemble received citations and garlands of hyssop.

Conferring the title of Tsekpakpa (Good father) on the three, Nii Ayaafio Tetteh I, President of Ga-Adangme Concern Youth Group, averred that hyssop is a very important herb which has spiritual and medicinal qualities.

He added that the Ga-Adangme Youth Group chose the garland of hyssop plant because it symbolizes purity.

Nii Ayaafio Tetteh said that the Ga-Adangme Youth Pressure Group from time to time identifies and recognizes some distinguished personalities living in any of the Ga-Adangme communities.

He bemoaned public utterances, which are likely to violate culture and traditions of any ethnic group, saying that when in Rome do what Romans do.

The three persons took turns to express their appreciation for the honour done them.

They reiterated the need for peaceful co-existence among all persons, irrespective of political, ethnic and religious affiliations, adding that as Ghanaians we have one destiny to build a prosperous nation for future generations.
