Dumsor Fire Guts Adenta House

A fire outbreak at Adentan Housing Down in Accra has gutted the belongings of a contractor Mohammed Alhassan Gomda.

According to Mohammed, “I was in Hohoe when word reached me about the fire. It started at about 9am on 26th December 2015 and by the time it was put off at noon by personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) from the Adenta Fire Station very important documents, personal belongings and money were gutted.”

According to reports, a Fire Station officer was contacted personally because their number was unknown to the contractor’s workers living in the house.

Close to a dozen intermittent power outages preceded the fire although the cause of it can only be determined by the GNFS, who have already commenced investigation into the matter.

Recently, the GNFS headquarters under the direction of the Chief Fire Officer Dr. Brown Gaisie launched a national bushfire campaign, having earlier held an editors’ forum to sensitize the media on the challenges of firefighting and causes of fire.
