Dr. Mahama Shakes Sheega

The Sheega township in the Talensi District came to a standstill on Sunday night when the flag bearer of the Peoples’ National Convention, Dr. Edward Mahama visited the area on his reaching out tour of the upper East region.

The flag bearer was accompanied by national and regional executives of the party in the upper East region.

Speaking at the rally which was attended by almost all the people in the community, Dr. Edward Mahama called on the people to stop voting for hardship for themselves.

According to him leaders are not elected to be served but rather elected to serve their people hence the need for the citizens to vote for him to serve them.

He intimated that for the past 24 years most parts of Ghana have remained the same with little or no development. This he says is because leaders past and present do not appreciate the sufferings of the people.

Dr. Mahama told the crowd that his presidency will focus on creating employment avenues through agriculture which he said would also cut down on Ghana’s dependence on imported food.

When it was his turn to speak, Bernard Mornah the National Chairman of the PNC wondered why northerners did not want to associate themselves with the PNC which is seen as a northern party.

According to him, northerners should take a cue from people in the volta and ashanti regions who vote for some parties because they see those ones as theirs.

Dr. Edward Mahama and his team have been touring the upper East region since Saturday.
