Delali Wins Miss Ghana 2015

A Pharmacy student of Central University, Antoinette Delali Kemavor, has been crowned Miss Ghana 2015.

She beat 20 other young ladies with beauty and intellect to emerge the winner, taking home the enviable crown, a sleek Citroën C4 Aircross, and will also represent Ghana at Miss World 2015 in Sanya, China in two weeks’ time.

Twenty-two-year-old Political Science and Theatre Arts student of the University of Ghana, Afua Asieduwaa Akrofi and 24-year-old Dental Surgery Assistant at the College of Health in Kintampo, Rebbecca Asamoah, emerged first and second runners-up respectively after delivering some interesting performances.

They each took home a brand new C- Elysee official car by CITROEN from CFAO GHANA and other attractive packages.

Before winners were announced, contestants were engaged in different activities including catwalks and highlife dance talent display among others. Pre-recorded videos of the projects and activities undertaken by some of the contestants were also shown to the audience.

In addition, special awards were handed out to some of the contestants: Miss Talent went to Alexalyn Naa Adoley while Larisa Andre won Miss Photogenic and Miss Gorgeous Skin.

Eleanor Seku was adjudged Miss Top Model while Miss Eloquence went to Adwoa Konadu. Miss Congeniality, Miss Fitness and Most Disciplined all went to Rebecca Asamoah. Eleanor Seku, Akorfa Awuma and Antoinette Kemavor won the Beauty with a Purpose Award.

The show became even more suspense-filled when the 21 contestants were reduced to ten (10) finalists.

The ten remaining ladies struggled and fumbled to wow the audience and judges Juliet Ibrahim, Selassie Ibrahim, Inna Patty and others during speech time.

Central Region’s representative, Catherine Nyaniba Apenteng, was at this point exceptional with her composure, giving obvious signs that she could win. But she couldn’t keep up when the judges followed up with questions.

Questions they asked ranged from what the ladies would do with the crown should they emerge winners to who an ideal Ghanaian woman was. Some of the girls sounded impressive with their answers while others didn’t.

Then the ten (10) were further trimmed to the final five (5). They included Rebecca Asamoah, Afua Asieduwaa, Louisa Tanti, Delali Kemavor and Larisa Andre.

The last five finalists were made to answer a breakaway question about what they would tell a Chinese investor about Ghana to convince him or her to come to Ghana and do business, should they be crowned Miss Ghana 2015.

The audience’s response to Rebecca Asamoah’s handling of the question suggested that they were convinced. But at the end of it all, it was Antoinette Delali Kemavor who emerged the ultimate winner.
