Deks Educational Institute wins leading West African private school award

Tema-based Deks Educational Institute has been awarded the 2015 leading private school in West Africa.

The award was conferred on the school at the West Africa International Governance and Leadership Awards ceremony in Togo.

The awards help to motivate business people, leaders and politicians to enhance their contributions to the development of West Africa.

Founder of the school Mark Dei says the award acknowledges the school’s hard work over the years. “We were not expecting it, but we got it. After 40 years, the award is a reality check indicating the toil has been rewarding. It’s humbling. It will spur them us to do more,” Mr. Dei said.

This is the second award the school has won this year after picking the best academic institution award at the Heads of States Award 2015.

The Tema-based school has classes from nursery, through primary to the high school level. The institute has one of the best educational infrastructures in Ghana, and boosts of quality teachers and a good management structure.
