Client Service Unit created in Akuapem North Assembly

Akropong (E/R), Jan. 29, GNA – The Akuapme North Municipal Assembly has established a Client Service Unit to improve upon customer services and ensure efficiency in service provision to the public.

The Unit, which is manned by an Assistant Director, is in line with a directive to all Assemblies to establish a client service unit to change citizens’ perception about the assemblies to promote public participation.

There have been reports of poor relationship and responsiveness of local government authorities to the needs of citizens in the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) and the Client Service Unit is a means to address such concerns.

Mr George Opare-Addo, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), in an interview with the GNA, said the Unit would serve as the first point of call to every visitor to the Assembly seeking to make enquiries and other business transactions.

He said people would now receive professional service from the Unit on all kinds of concerns and more so management of the assembly would have adequate time to attend to issues.

The MCE urged all visitors to the assembly to visit the Unit so that they would be directed to the appropriate department for attention and expressed the hope that the establishment would help demystify negative perceptions about the Assembly.
